Zeadoo is the brainchild of New Zealand entrepreneur Simon Slade

Zeadoo Limited is a New Zealand company based in Christchurch; on the 16 of September they announced the launch of Zeadoo which is a personal home page like iGoogle, My Yahoo and Netwibe. Until now the three "main" personal homepages haven't had too many worthy competitors, but Zeadoo definitely has a lot to offer!

“Zeadoo is the brainchild of New Zealand entrepreneur Simon Slade and the result of many long hours of toil and experimentation from the Zeadoo team in Christchurch.

The site was founded in September 2008, following a futile search for a platform that was simple, accessible from any computer, allowed full customization, and that had a strong focus on privacy and control of what you share & access on the web. Our mission is "to provide a private platform for people to store, share & access information in an easy manner."”

The main features are;

1. Search: Search all your favourite websites from on screen. No need to visit them all separately.

2. Save: Import your bookmarks, or download the Zeadoo extension and bookmark webpage’s on the go.

3. Share: Easily share interesting, funny or informative webpage's with friends you choose. Don't let the world see what you share!

4. Customize: Use Zeadoo's tools to customize your page to suit your lifestyle. Personalize your page with a unique background design from their graphic artists and rearrange your page whenever you want.

5. Access: Your page moves when you do. Login to your Zeadoo account from any computer with an Internet connection.

The one thing that personally sold me on Zeadoo was the fast loading times compared to My Yahoo and iGoogle, Zeadoo may not have the same amount of features but the simplicity of it and the private website sharing certainly makes up for it. Zeadoo is very easy to navigate, the demographic targeted is anyone that uses two or more pc's. You can login to your Zeadoo account from any pc with an Internet connection and take your favourite websites with you. There was about 1 year of development put into it before they released the beta version was released. A little bit over a month after release date they now have over 2500 active users.

I asked Simon Slade if he believe that Zeadoo will be able to rival iGoogle and My Yahoo he thinks that they "definitely have the potential to rival them obviously they have a much larger user base then Zeadoo at the moment, but they are concentrating on improving their product before they try to take them on full steam ahead"

Sure do Lissie, http://www.zeadoo.com/

I really love it, I previously used "My Yahoo which is a lot more feature heavy, but the loading times are horrific compared to Zeadoo. With all the features that comes with the 3 main ones, to me it seems like the "purpose" of them get's lost with the features. Just my personal opinion though...
